People
Reinhard Stöger studied biology and genetics at the University of Vienna.
During his PhD at the
IMP he worked with
Denise Barlow to
discover and
describe one of the first imprinted genes in mammals, Igf2r.
He carried out research at the
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center,
King’s College (London) and the University of Washington (Seattle), in the
laboratory of
Charles Laird. Over the past years Reinhard described
epigenetic variation in humans, identified a new
subfamily of
chromodomain helicases, contributed to the conception
and development of
new methods and
research tools, and more recently advancing
theoretical concepts.
Haneen Al-Azzawi
studied Biochemistry and Forensic Science and obtained her masters
degree from the Keele University and the Leiden University Medical
Centre, Netherlands. Her
BBSRC-funded PhD project is directed towards analysing the
epigenetic regulation of Leptin.
